Challenge

This company has global operations, which means they have thousands of data collection points for several hundred departments. Although their entire data collection process for all disciplines is heavily automated. Due to the nature of the operations being highly collaborative in terms of interdepartmental projects, most of the data generated was linked to many departments at once. In addition, existing methodologies and systems made data preparation and report generation very tedious and time-consuming. Consequently, this entire process had an adverse impact on the time taken for making important decisions based on interdepartmental reports.

Our BI consultants conducted initial requirement engineering workshops to understand the current data pipeline and how it can be improved to make report generation faster. As a result, we identified several automated data collection points linked together to form data pipelines that automatically accumulate vital information required to prepare departmental reports. Our goal was to streamline the data accumulation process to the extent that reporting becomes easier for the employees and enables them to make powerful executive dashboards allowing greater visibility of departmental projects performances in real-time and get actionable insights at a glance.
