Challenge

Football is one of the most popular sports in the world. Despite having such a global presence, rich heritage, and evergrowing player base, the talent hunting process in football is still very conventional, old school, and human dependant. The founding team of JOGO had the vision to digitize the training process by creating a global platform to nurture the upcoming footballing talent under one umbrella. Execution of this idea was heavily dependent on the skillful software development team which could leverage the power of Computer Vision (AI), and create robust data collection methodologies and pipelines to train the data accurately which would drastically improve the results of this platform. Mobile and web development of such an application was required to tap the potential userbase of this platform.

The purpose of this platform was not only to discover the best young talent in the world but also to enable coaches and trainers to have hands-on experience in mentoring these prospects, by preparing AI-powered and regulated training regimes. To build a high-quality platform of such scale, Cloud Primero became the digital product development partner of JOGO and provided a dedicated agile project team of 25 members constituent of Developers, Product Manager, SCRUM Master, AI Engineers, Data Scientists & Testers. This allowed the team at JOGO to focus more on product leadership, go to market strategy and client success while Cloud Primero took care of the technology delivery.

Our team along with the team at JOGO was able to deliver a great digital experience including mobile apps for players using the latest in computer vision and neural networks that allow players to engage digitally in ways that have never been done before. We also build a great web application for the trainers that monitors player performance and also helps trainers plan skill assignments for their individual players. The system provides deep insights using machine learning so trainers can take better decisions to improve youth development. The data warehouse is able to collect data from multiple sources including JOGO sensors, wearables and in app data. All this allows a comprehensive digital experience.
